HSC® extends its production capacity with new Heat Treatment line

HSC® is delighted to announce the completion of its new Heat Treatment line adding a  production capacity of 150,000 MT/year to the existing Premium threading capacity of 300,000 MT/year in this facility.

The HSC® Steel Mill was built in 2007 in Qingbaijian city located in the Sichuan province. The architecture of the administrative building has been designed by A.K.K architects while the mill layout and production flow were developed by Xian Heavy Industry.
In 2016, the HSC team started working on extending its operation by adding a Heat Treatment line equipped with the latest technology available on the market. The project was completed in 2018.

Today, HSC® produces line pipes, tubing and casing covering all grades of API 5L, APi 5CT and API 5CRA with the capacity to produce Carbon Steel grades, 13 Chrome Grades, Super Chrome and Duplex.

CUTTING-EDGE TECHNOLOGY, PRODUCTION AND TESTING

 

The HSC® Chengdu Mill uses cutting-edge technology and the latest equipment available on the market, enabling the expected efficiency, quality, delivery and overall standard that has come to be associated with the HSC® name.
The Steel Mill is equipped with:

  • Full in-house lab testing facilities for chemical analysis and grain structure.
  • The latest equipment for mechanical testing
  • Our furnaces are able to reach 1200C and are equipped with high precision temperature control +-5C which allows us to reach grades beyond the requirements of API 5CT, 5CR and 5L.

 

HEAT TREATMENT

HSC® can supply all types of Heat Treatment procedures ranging from quenching and tempering: air quenching, tempering and normalizing.
They can perform:

  • EMI testing
  • Ultrasonic full body testing
  • MPI (magnetic particle inspection).
  • Hydrotesting
  • Automatic drift

All operations are fully automated.

THREADING

HSC® is equiped with automated threading lines, comprised of state-of-the-art CNC threading machines.

QUALITY

Each connection is tightly controlled according to the HSC® Quality Manual which follows strict quality rules with a traceability system by pipe number all the way from the Heat Treatment to the finished product

SUSTAINABILITY

Sustainability is an integral part of everything we do.
The HSC® Steel Mill operates using natural gas. In addition, the energy from the Heat Treatment section is recycled within the factory thus allowing us to reduce our carbon footprint. The emission of air pollutants is  also strictly controlled.
HSC® Chengdu mill has been built with more than 95% of the equipment sourced and designed locally.
